The Samsung PM1643 (MZILT3T8HBLS) is a 3.84 TB enterprise SAS SSD — 12 Gb/s dual-port SAS-3 in a 2.5" (15 mm) form factor — built on Samsung's 3D TLC V-NAND for read-intensive datacenter workloads at 1 DWPD.

It sustains up to roughly 2,100 MB/s sequential read and 2,000 MB/s write, with about 400,000 / 60,000 random read/write IOPS, and rates ~1 drive-write-per-day (about 7 PBW) over a 5-year design life. Dual-port SAS enables multipath and failover in high-availability arrays, while end-to-end data protection and power-loss protection guard in-flight writes on unexpected power loss.

As a 12 Gb/s SAS device it drops into the same 2.5" SFF SAS bays and RAID/HBA controllers as enterprise 10K/15K spinning disks, delivering SSD latency and IOPS at a fraction of new-drive cost — an easy hot tier alongside 10K SAS capacity drives.

The dual-port SAS interface supports multipath in HA/clustered arrays; a single-port SAS/SATA backplane will use one path. Requires a chassis-matched 2.5" hot-swap caddy.
