The Seagate ST1200MM0098 is a 1.2 TB enterprise 2.5" (SFF) hard drive from the Enterprise Performance 10K family, spinning at 10,000 RPM on a 12 Gb/s SAS (SAS-3) interface.

It pairs a 128 MB cache with 512-native (512n) sectors and is rated at 2,000,000 hours MTBF for 24×7 datacenter duty, targeting tier-1 transactional and virtualization storage where 10K SAS balances IOPS against capacity better than 7.2K nearline or lower-endurance SSD tiers. This is the standard (non-SED) model; a self-encrypting variant ships as ST1200MM0108. Dell's OEM equivalent is 400-AJPU.

Dell PowerEdge SFF bays — PowerEdge R740xd, R640, R730, R730xd — in a Dell 2.5" hot-swap tray, driven by a PERC H730P or HBA330. HPE ProLiant Gen9/Gen10 SFF requires an HPE tray and HPE-firmware drive (this Seagate carries standard/Dell firmware).
